I'll show some sample solutions from my jump drive.

Dreamweaver/Web assignment

You will create and publish online a personal 5-page Web site using Dreamweaver.

It must be published and viewable online. You need to e-mail me the URL so that I can view the site. It will be of the form:
http://www.lasalle.edu/~smithj1/index.html

The five pages will have the following content (order is up to you after the home page). Start with a 2-column fixed right sidebar header and footer layout. You can then use Save As to make your other 4 pages:

  1. Home page. This needs to briefly explain what the site contains, and what the user can do or see there.
  2. About me/Interests. Include a paragraph describing who you are, where you're from, and so on. Mention any La Salle organizations, other volunteer or organized activities, hobbies, some favorite TV show, movies, music.
  3. Portfolio. This will include links to work you've done at La Salle (including for this class) or before. Remember that if you link to any MSOffice file it must be saved in Office 97-2003 format (.doc, .ppt. .xls). You must post a minimum of five documents.
  4. Links. Places on the Web that you think are important, useful and interesting. Include a brief description of each site on this page so that the user knows what to expect there. Post at least 5 links.
  5. Photo Gallery. Put up pictures of yourself, friends, activities—whatever you think will make your site interesting both for entertainment, but also for career puposes later on. Remember the basic formats: JPEG for photographs, and GIF for cartoons or graphics.
The gallery will be built in a table with thumbnails that link to the larger images, and alt text that explains each one.

We will add details to these as we go. The completed Web site is due posted online now Monday, Dec. 8 (as we said, e-mail me the URL so that I can view the site).
