In DART/ENG 230 you’ll be introduced to the practice of World Wide Web document design and development, grounded in an understanding of the Web’s development and theories of graphics and communication. The course focuses on creating, revising, editing, and critiquing Web sites using “hard code” and applications-based layout and editing. It also covers recent client-side Web site creation such as CSS3, HTML5 and jQuery, and refers to XML/XHTML practices.

Learning Outcomes: Students completing this course will:

 

Instructional methods: The course will be taught with lectures, employing daily web pages and Web resources, discussion, some class time for project work, and student contributions (Site of the Day) in which you will present and teach material to the class.

The class is a lot of fun but it’s a lot of hard work, too. We can all get the most of it if we follow a few basic guidelines:
