Handcoded CSS assignment
- starts with an HTML5 doctype (p. 181) but conforms to the standards of XHTML that we used for the first assignment: lowercase tags, close container tags e.g. </p>, quote all attribute values, proper nesting
- puts everything in a centered container <div> which has <div id="content"> with at least one HTML5 semantic structural element (e.g. <article>, <header>, <section>, <footer>) and <div id="sidebar"> or <nav> using either position: or float: (see examples on September 26 page or Chapter 15; I suggest using the Adobe two-column float layout)
- has an embedded style sheet that:
- sets the body background color and a default font with the body selector
- creates styles for h1, h2, h3 and paragraphs that set the size and color
- creates a class for one paragraph that changes the font color, family and adds line-height
- make a class for one or two words that are italic and bold using <span>
- makes a link that is styled using all four pseudoclasses (remember LVHA order) so that there is a mouseover (a:hover) effect
- makes an e-mail link that is styled with border, padding, background-color and no text-decoration
- See HTML5 and CSS3 chapters 7-11, or use the links from the website for learning the code.
- You can copy and paste your content from the first assignment into the <section> element or <div id="content">; in any case, you need
complete sentences and careful attention to your writing
