Today’s topic is searching, and sources. Reading is HTML and CSS Chapter 19. We’ll look at these links in class on Web browsing, search engines, directories:
- An archive of old and new browsers you can test at evolt.org
- A page to get stats on use of browser, resolutions, color-bit depth, etc. (but only for its own site) at W3 Schools. [Disclaimer: Please also see w3fools.com which started in response to errors at W3 Schools. They now recommed the Mozilla Developer Network (MDN).
- Same thing but a bit more global site: StatCounter
Source: StatCounter Global Stats - Browser Market Share
- Search engines and how to use them from SearchEngineWatch, the site about search engines.
- A useful series of articles on search engines from Lifewire
To get you started on HTML and the Handcoded pages assignment. We’ll start a basic HTML page today.
