1) Basic Grammar (Writer’s Workshop), on
· Active/passive voice

· Subject-verb agreement
· That/which
· Word usage

2) A bunch of interactive stuff (Guide to Grammar and Writing), under Word & Sentence level, Quizzes, Notorious Confusables I and II. (Finish Notorious Confusables III, IV and V.)

3) A spelling Test (Q 1–20)

4) Interactive with AP (Newsroom 101): Newsroom 1. (Finish Newsroom 2, 3 and 4).

5) AP by letter (Sage College), do the first three questions in the AP style Quiz for A,B,C (see answers under ABC Key #2. Bonus: What word did they leave uncorrected in Q 1?)

6) Not-too-tough usage quiz (Richard Roth’s 100): Nos. 21–1.

Others are FYI., for fun (e.g. Wordy ads) or to test more obscure usage (Tough word choice).

To test how well you have internalized some of the more common grammar, usage and A-B-C style errors, there will be a brief quiz on these exercises next week. You should be sure to know the basics (e.g. it’s vs. its) and those that you see repeated (e.g. that, which).
