Flyer/InDesign

4/4/19

For this assignment you will create a simple flyer using the files available here and any text that you wish to add. The flyer is an advertisement for the Stonington Beach Hotel in Bermuda, that gives contact information, has a map or logo, a CVI (center of visual impact) and that uses its slogan, "All the Best of Bermuda. All in One Place." You can use any of the photos you want, but you must include the map or the logo, as determined by your design.

Here is a text file of contact info. Remember to download the file through the browser: Click, choose Save Page as, or right-click (control-click if right-click is not enabled on your mouse, which you can set up in System Preferences) and choose Save Link As (Firefox, Chrome) or Download Linked File As (Safari). Store your files in a folder on your desktop or (better) on a USB. But try not to work on the USB, as that can cause problems with picture linkages. Then draw a text box and File-Place. (You can cut and paste, but Place is the proper way to import. It assures the file is properly and completely imported.)

Be sure to consider Robin Williams' principles of Proximity, Repetition, Alignment and Contrast. Use her book chapters 1-6 for those. See pages 125-128 ("Flyers" which is now the AP spelling).

Due Thursday, April 11. Be sure to test print here in color. Try to bring questions to class next week. Another procedure we will go over is printing to a PDF file for files to be printed elsewhere.
