  Today’s topic is image maps and a chance to look at image maps and JavaScript using Dreamweaver. To test an image map, let's use the state fair photo. But what should we do first in Photoshop (to optimize it)?
  
  Here are two buttons that you can use to insert a Rollover image in Dreamweaver (and then make your own): Up state; Over state. From last class, take a look at the code behind the rollovers in the Spry navbar demo . And here is AdobeTV on setting up Spry form validation or tooltips.
  Here is a simple image map made in Dreamweaver that shows the code behind the three types of hotspots, and here is an image map with popups that I did for another class, and here is a simpler popup script with an onClick event handler (still, these are all inline, which is discouraged). And here is a demo of some common event handlers. Remember:JavaScript is defined by:

  EVENT + OBJECT = ACTION.
