First, here is the Kuler site from Adobe.
Todays topics are color theory and color on the Web.
Reading: HTML & CSS Chapter 11.
- We have seen some earlier sites that discuss images. Take a look (back?) at the WPDFD discussion of images and pallettes.
- Heres a site to convert RGB values to Hexadecimal code RGB to Hex converter.
- General color theory and resources Color Matters.
- Try the Color Wizard or Spin the Wheel from Colors on the Web
- Color Scheme Designer, sort of like Kuler
But Web designers seem less concerned with traditional color theory that deals with color Harmony. Ive scanned in a color wheel and
some graphics that show color schemes.
Test #2 on Tuesday. The quiz (quest?) will cover
material from Feb. 7 through today. That means the topic areas are:
- Photoshop intro (JPEG, GIF)
- CSS, CSS layouts, lessons from handcoding (review chapters 13, 15, be able to troubleshoot some CSS)
- Images and file size
- Design principles
- Typography (see the Counterspace site).
- Navigation and usability
- Color
Readings: HTML & CSS chapters 11, 12, 13, 5, 16, 18; handouts on CSS basic and layout (About.com)
And look again at the Top 10 Image tips plus Top 12 Type tips.
