The process that we are going to discuss today comes from Web Redesign: Workflow That Works. Note that while this is about re-designing, it has become a standard that is “easily adaptable to new Web design projects,” to quote a review in Technical Communication. You should readVisual Design for the Modern Web Chaspter 2 as well.

Note that there is a similar set of steps at December.com, and other books such as Web Content Management that you might want to look at for the process used by Fortune 500 companies.
