For updates on logins check trouble sheet in Wister. When your password is reset, use telnet and Filezilla to create and check on your public_html directory. Today’s topic is searching, and sources. Here are some links that add to the readings. We’ll look at these in class:

Be sure from class or readings that you understand:
  1. Boolean searches (AND, OR, NOT, +/-)
  2. Phrase or string searching ("two words" {two words})
  3. Proximity searches (word1 w/5 word2)
  4. Wild cards and truncation (wom?n and develop*)
  5. Synonym searching (new on Google: food ~facts)
To get you started on HTML and the Handcoded pages assignment we’ll start a basic HTML page today.
