There are four basic properties of styles that are commonly applied to text. This is also a good place to mention that there other uses of CSS that allow positioning, sizing, stacking and clipping of images. These CSS properties, together with some JavaScript, are what drive Dynamic HTML (DHTML) as for example when Dreamweaver stacks and animates layers. This module concentrates on text formatting, but the principles are the same.
