The Week of February 15
- Homework:
This is a continuation of last week's assignment.
Again imagine you are applying for a position and
write a resume for your application. See Project
2 in Microsoft Word 97(Shelly, Cashman and
Vermaat) for help (starting page 2.6). It should be
your resume, not Caroline Louise
Schmidt's! You can use the template they use in the
book, but it should only serve as a starting point.
I'll bring in a book with other examples you can
look at. You want a resume to attract the prospective
employer's attention. If you simply fill in the
template blanks, your resume will look just like a
lot of other people's. Some of the suggestions from
last week still apply.
- Increase the return address font.
- You may want to eliminate the underlining of your
email address.
- If your resume is short, you might increase
the font size but don't go too high.
- Spell check it!
Hand in a disk with the Word file (LABEL IT!!!!) as
well as a printed version by Monday Feb. 22.
- Reading:
No new reading. Start reviewing for the test.
- Monday:
No lecture. Finish the paragraph formatting lab.
Second table lab.
- Wednesday:
Short Word lab and review for test.
- Friday:
TEST!
