The Week of April 12

• Homework: Write a two-page paper (in Word, double spaced, 12 pt font) on one of the following topics:
  • The Melissa virus.
  • Speech synthesizers or other computer devices used by the disabled.
  You should include:
  • A header with your name as well as the course number CSC 152. (That doesn't just mean that you type your name at the topof the page; a header is a specific thing in Word.)
  • A title, centered in bold 14 pt. font
  • At least one reference (it can be a web site). Note it should be a proper reference. For instructions on how to reference a web site see the MLA (Modern Language Association) web site.
  • Reading: Chapter 4 in Discovering Computers 98 (Shelly, Cashman and Waggoner).

  • Monday: Lecture on Input and Output. See the slide show on the web or download the PowerPoint presentation.

  • Wednesday: First HTML lab. Bring your Word books and your resume files!!!!!!

  • Friday: Start your personal web page. Note that your "personal" web page does not have to be very personal. It could be on any topic.
