Transparent GIF's
What does one mean by "transparent gif's"? Well a picture is worth a thousand words. Here's an example:

So how is it done?
Start up
Microsoft Photo Editor.
Go to
File/Open and bring in your .gif file.
Find
the Set Transparent Color tool (the blue and yellow stick
next to the black right angle, it's next to the sun
shaped icon). Click on it.
Then move
the cursor to your graphic. It becomes a little black and
white stick next to a right angle. Click on the background
you want made transparent and then click OK.
In the
case above, it then looked checked.
Save the
now transparent gif. (File/Save).
Now insert this new .gif onto your web page as normal and it should be transparent.
