My Resume
Assigned 8/30 Due 9/13 at 12:00.

You are going to build your Resume using CSS.

You are getting ready to begin career interviews. You are going to need a resume for this. During the first weeks of class, you will be meeting with individuals from Career Services to complete your resume. In order to MOTIVATE you to complete these tasks, we are going to work on your resume as part of this assignment. You need to consider your content and your presentation.

Remember, as DArt majors, you need to be creative. You need to demonstrate your creativity. Since most times employers will see your resume first, you should take this opportunity to accentuate your design skills in the resume. You still need to design within the confines of traditional means. Some employers do not use electronic resumes--so you need to have a resume that works for both mediums. You also want to be selected by the database tools which scan resumes. So you are going to try and achieve these goals through this assignment.

First--using the electronic copy of the resume--lay it out in an electronic template format. I would suggest using either layers (if you are comfortable using them) or a table. Include your personality in your design. Once you have the resume template, build it in Dreamweaver. YOU MUST USE Style sheets--don't be afraid to use multiple pages for the resume as you build in Dreamweaver--but be consistent in your design.

Use style sheets to establish a screen view of the resume--Make your contact information a series of headers--play with the font style and color, layout placement and form.

Try to establish a set of stylesheet classes for your heading and then another class for the content of the headings. Apply the classes to the pieces of the resume.

Put a background (preferrably not white) in the body.

Once you have the layout complete, establish changes to make one CSS for screen and one for Print.

Save all your work--you should be able to use this for your resume requirements for career services. Don't forget to consider the content--check spelling. If you have a portfolio link--check it out.

Remember this is your entry in the door--if it doesn't work--you won't be allowed in the door.

You should upload your entire resume to the Alpha machine.

You should submit a link via WEBct to the Resume. THE LINK MUST WORK.

I also want a hardcopy of the resume submitted.

Your assignment will be graded on style, content and use of style sheets--REMEMBER this is an assignment on style sheets--USE THEM extensively---or regardless of the content and the design, you will not receive a passing grade for this project.
