Stephen A. Longo, Ph.D. is a full professor in both the Geology/Physics Department and the Math/Computer Science Department of La Salle University. At La Salle he has served as Chair of the Physics Department, the first Director of Academic Computing, and the principal lead in establishing the Masters Program in Computer Science. His recent teaching includes classes in Programming, Web Programming, Networking, Databases, Security and Physics. He is especially interested in new trends in Information Technology and strives to bring these concepts to the classroom.

 

Suzanne Fairlie, CPC

Suzanne Fairlie , CPC, is founder and president of ProSearch , an executive retained search firm specializing in Information Technology and Finance search. Established in 1988, ProSearch is headquartered in Willow Grove , Pennsylvania .

Previously, Ms. Fairlie worked for IBM, Tandem, and Sun Oil in Information Systems Management.  She graduated from Gettysburg College with a BA in Mathematics. 

Ms. Fairlie's 19 years of high level search experience include recruitment of "best in class" senior and C-level information technology and financial services professionals from a wide variety of organizations, including Fortune 500 companies, fast growth entrepreneurial firms, and non profit organizations. She has placed several hundred CIOs and Information Systems VP's since 1988, many of whom are in place 5 to 10 years, or longer.

Her insider experience in Information Systems, beginning as a System Engineer with IBM to corporate roles in systems, to a Regional Product Manager with Tandem Computers, enable her to effectively describe and understand a position's technical requirements as well as the company's cultural fit. She possesses a comprehensive understanding of technology based strategies, operations, and management structure, and partners with her clients for effective solutions.
Consistently identified as one of the largest 25 search firms in Philadelphia by the Philadelphia Business Journal, she is often quoted in career-oriented national publications and has authored several articles. Ms. Fairlie was named to Pennsylvania 's Best 50 Women in Business 2005 by Governor Rendell, as part of a program which showcases the best women in business in Pennsylvania , based on their advocacy for women, professional accomplishments and community involvement. She has made guest appearances on CNN and local television. ProSearch received the 2004 Aetna Small Business of the Year Award for the Mid-Atlantic Region, and with that, they were able to designate a $5000 donation to the charity of their choice, Project Home.

Ms. Fairlie has served as an officer in the National Association, Pennsylvania Association, and Mid-Atlantic Association of Personnel Consultants.   She serves on the Board of Directors of the Pinnacle Society, the CIO Forum, the Opera Company of Philadelphia , NPower, and the Black Data Processing Association (BDPA) . Suzanne serves on various committees of the Society for Information Management (SIM).  She is an active member of the Union League of Philadelphia and is often called upon to speak at state and national associations, on topics related to executive search, employee retention, and interviewing techniques. ProSearch is proud of it's membership in the Association of Executive Search Consultants ( www.aesc.org ), an international group for retained search firms.

Additionally, Ms. Fairlie has testified before Congress, participated in White House Briefings and was invited to the signing of the NAFTA by President Clinton. Her name appears in the Pennsylvania Honor Roll of Women, a recognition for women who have distinguished themselves as professionals and leaders in their communities. Featured on the cover of Business Philadelphia, Ms. Fairlie was named a “Top 100 People to Watch” in Philadelphia . Her name is included in Who's Who publications. She and her husband, a Psychologist, are proud parents of two grown children, their spouses, and 3 grandchildren.

 

Betsy Scarcelli, Chief Information Officer

Betsy Scarcelli is the Chief Information Officer (CIO) for Keystone Mercy Health Plan. In this role, she is responsible for strategic planning, oversight and management of the technology infrastructure, software applications and technology services supporting businesses in Philadelphia and affiliated plans in the Lehigh/Capital and Northeast regions of Pennsylvania ; Charleston , South Carolina ; and Louisville , Kentucky .

As CIO, Ms. Scarcelli collaborates with senior leadership to develop and execute the Company's Information Solutions Strategy, which focuses on developing the people, processes and technologies required to enable the Company to continue to be a leader in the health care industry. Through her guidance, Ms. Scarcelli works to create better health outcomes for our members by identifying quality, agile information solutions that are proactive, innovative, and cost effective, which is at the core of our mission.

Prior to joining Keystone Mercy in 2004, Ms. Scarcelli was the Vice President and CIO for The Hartford based in Fort Washington , Pennsylvania , where she was responsible for the Information Technology organization, and developed and managed the Program Management Office. Prior to The Hartford, Ms. Scarcelli worked for the Prudential Insurance Company.

Ms. Scarcelli received her BS in Computer Based Business Systems from Gwynedd-Mercy College . She is a member of the Society for Information Management, Society for Human Resource Management and Executive Women's Golf Association.

 

Bill Herman, Ed. D.

Dr. Bill Herman is the Vice President of Consulting Practices for SunGard Higher Education, a higher education software development and services company providing ERP (Enterprise Resource Planning) solutions and integration for colleges and universities in the global market. His focus is on integrating new technologies into ERP and training solutions. His current research is in the application of virtual machine technology to distance learning. Dr. Herman has served on numerous university advisory councils and boards supporting curriculum and program development. Prior to joining SunGard Higher Education, he served as Director of Consulting Services for EDS, Director of Technical Training for EDS, and a member of the Computer Science Department faculty at Stephen F. Austin State University .
