Neighborhood Tutoring

Neighborhood Tutoring is an after school program for neighborhood children in which they receive one-on-one tutoring with one of the volunteers twice a week for an hour each meeting. We stress education and hold special programs biweekly to teach the children how important education is. We have about 100 volunteers, both work-study and volunteer, and about 200 kids that receive tutoring. We are one of the largest work-study programs in the country and have nationally been recognized by President Bill Clinton. The children, along with their tutors, are given access to the university facilities like the computer lab and the library.
