Project Appalachia [ top
]
Project Appalachia is an alternative Spring Break project that
visits the Appalachian region each year to rebuild the lives and
homes. In recent years, Appalachia has worked with COAP (Christian
Outreach with Appalachian People) to build additions and new homes
as well as repair existing homes. Students who participate in
Appalachia receive education about the culture they will be living
in for a week, and have the opportunity to create lasting friendships
and memories with the people they work with in Appalachia and
from La Salle.

Los Niños [ top

Los Niños seeks to engage students in a unique experience
among communities in the bordertown of Tijuana, Mexico. Students
participate in direct service (the construction of community schools
and interaction with children in orphanages) and partake in discussions
on issues that are prevalent in Tijuana (border, socioeconomic,
and environmental issues). This experience incorporates experiential
learning, education, cultural awareness, and has a lasting impression
on those who experience it.
