Children's Programs – Tutoring

Neighborhood Tutoring
Neighborhood tutoring is an after school program for neighborhood children in which they receive one-on-one tutoring with one of the volunteers twice a week. This is one of the largest work-study programs in the country and has been nationally recognized by former President Clinton.
Foster Care
Foster Care tutoring aims to provide children with committed tutors who assists in academic, social, and emotional growth. Both the student and the child have the opportunity to build a trusting relationship. La Salle students help to illustrate that attending college is an attainable goal. Occasionally, children and their tutors take educational trips.
San Miguel
La Salle students work in an after-school program with at-risk middle school students at San Miguel, a Christian Brothers school in Camden, NJ. Goals include homework help, computer assistance, and being able to listen to the students' needs and concerns.
