Welcome to my homepage! Here you will find links to information for my courses as well as my research interests and useful links

I am a 1996 graduate of La Salle University with a B.A. in Chemistry and Biochemistry. After college I went to work with Anthony W. Addison at Drexel University, where I received my Ph.D. in Inorganic Chemistry in 2001. My Dissertation was entitled "Thioether-oxime Complexes of Nickel(II) and Copper(II)" After 5 yrs. at Drexel, I taught Inoganic and General Chemistry at Rowan University in Glassboro, NJ. In 2002, I came to La Salle, where I've taught General, Analytical, Instrumental Analysis and Advanced Inorganic Chemistry.

I am a firm beliver in learning by doing. I am passionate about providing students the opportunity to become involved in scientific research. Often students forget concepts they see or hear, but they never forget ideas and concepts they learned from "hands-on" research. I've had the pleasure of advising 16 undergraduate students research projects thus far. Many of my students have also been given the chance to present their work at national meetings of the American Chemical Society (so far students have presented at meetings in New Orleans, Philadelphia, and Atlanta)

The great group of students who did research with me this last summer and academic year.

From Left to Right: Dr. Prushan, Jeff Oleske, Diana Tomezsko, Kat Prokop, Jay Stephens, Natalie Dixon, Andrea McMunn

My research interests involve (1)Understanding the role of mixed N/S donor systems in nickel containing proteins and enzymes. (2) Synthesis and characterization of molecular magnetic materials.
