Credibility---Is there an author(s) or
producer(s)? Does the document provide credentials on the author? For example,
the author has a Ph.D., M.D., etc. Are the credentials appropriate for the
topic? Is there contact information for the author(s)or producer(s) of the
document. This can include an e-mail address and/or street address and phone
number. Is the page biased? Does it seek to present one side of an issue? If
the page is attributed to an organization, is the organization credible? Does
the organization have a hidden (or obvious) agenda that might affect
credibility of the information?
Accuracy--- Is the information
included in the site complete and accurate? Does the site appear to be
comprehensive? How does the information
found in the site compare to other resources or related sites?
Relevancy---Is there a stated purpose
or information describing the function of the site? Does the site directly
address your research question? Or does it provide some related
information? Or just touch on your topic?
Dates---What is the date of
coverage for the site? When was it created? Is this date “current” for the
topic? Is the site up-to-date? Are the links up-to-date?
Sources---Does the site refer or
link you to additional (outside) sites or resources? Are the links appropriate
for the research topic? Are these resources easily accessible? Are the sources
provided significant enough to merit bookmarking this site? Does the site
provide any references to relevant articles or books?
