As mentioned in the initial handout, a first installment is due on 3/22. This is not graded, but is intended to encourage progress before the end of the semester. What you should hand in on 3/22: a) your topic; b) a list of sources, with a copy of the first page of each (don’t give me your only copy); c) a tentative outline of your paper. What you may also hand in on 3/22: a) for each source, a short explanation (maybe a paragraph) why it is appropriate for your research; b) introductory paragraph.
Of Note: The short explanation is one of your final deliverables – as an appendix to your paper, so effort on that now is not “extra”. The introductory paragraph could change later (you’re not committed to it. In fact some writing experts suggest that you should rewrite your introduction just before finishing a paper – after you know exactly what you want to say).
The final paper is due at the beginning of class on 4/24/06
