When your paper is ready

  1. go to www.turnitin.com
  2. sign in with your e-mail address and password created above (not the class password, your password)
  3. Click on the class name to enter our class
  4. Click on the submit button for the “Research Project” assignment (It looks like a sheet of paper with squiggly lines on it (and a blue arrow next to it). It is underneath the “Submit” heading.
  5. Type in your title (you can be brief/ abbreviated, but you must have a title or the page will require you to re-submit)
  6. Click on the “Browse” button to find your file
  7. Find your file (if you have different versions, make sure it is the right one), and Double Click on it, or Click on it, then Click on the “Open” button
  8. Click on the “Submit” button
  9. Confirm that this is the paper that you want to submit (When I did this the Yes button showed up as a red x instead of a button, but it still worked)
  10. A digital receipt for your submission will be displayed. A copy of this receipt will also be emailed to you. If you would like, print the receipt for your records.

Soon After

  1. You may view the originality report on your paper. Login and go to the class.
  2. Click on the “View Report” icon under “Contents” (it should be colored, to the left of the icon for the document itself)
  3. Sequences of words found elsewhere are colored and underlined. Some of these may be problems, others might not be. (e.g. I sent a test document. It flagged “La Salle University, 1900 W Olney Ave” – no problem. It flagged a quote from a source, and had the source – no problem since it was presented as a quote from the source rather than as my own words. So don’t be alarmed to have things flagged – but if it is a problem, fix it! They search the internet, previously turned in student papers and ProQuest. You have until the due date to resubmit.)
