boxes (case matters – R is different than r), and Click on “Next” button
- Choose a secret question and give the answer. Click on
“Next” button
- Enter your name. Click on “Next” button

When your paper is ready
- go to www.turnitin.com
- sign in with your e-mail address and password created
above (not the class password, your password)
- Click on the class name to enter our class
- Click on the submit button for the “Research Project”
assignment (It looks like a sheet of paper with squiggly lines on it (and
a blue arrow next to it). It is underneath the “Submit” heading.
- Type in your title (you can be brief/ abbreviated, but you
must have a title or the page will require you to re-submit)
- Click on the “Browse” button to find your file
- Find your file (if you have different versions, make sure
it is the right one), and Double Click on it, or Click on it, then Click
on the “Open” button
- Click on the “Submit” button
- Confirm that this is the paper that you want to submit
(When I did this the Yes button showed up as a red x instead of a button,
but it still worked)
- A digital receipt for your submission will be displayed. A
copy of this receipt will also be emailed to you. If you would like, print
the receipt for your records.
Soon After
- You may view the originality report on your paper. Login
and go to the class.
- Click on the “View Report” icon under “Contents” (it
should be colored, to the left of the icon for the document itself)
- Sequences of words found elsewhere are colored and
underlined. Some of these may be problems, others might not be. (e.g. I
sent a test document. It flagged “La Salle University, 1900 W Olney Ave” –
no problem. It flagged a quote from a source, and had the source – no
problem since it was presented as a quote from the source rather than as
my own words. So don’t be alarmed to have things flagged – but if it is a
problem, fix it! They search the internet, previously turned in student
papers and ProQuest. You have until the due date to resubmit.)
