CSC 480 - Fall 2003 Reflective Paper about the project
Due: Dec 9 (at Final Exam)
From Sylabus:
"In
addition, you will write a short, reflective paper about what you learned in
working on the project. More details will be available later.”
...
Grading:
…
Reflective Paper 5%
Further Description:
The paper should be a
concise discussion of what you learned about requirements analysis and
design, and about group work from the
project, as well as analyzing what enabled your group design to be as good as
it is and how your group could have done a better job.
Length: 1-3 Pages
Some questions to ponder in
writing your paper:
What did you learn about
doing a group design?
about collaborative design?
about meetings?
about collaborative writing/reports?
about dealing with different personalities, goals, agendas,
opinions ...
What would you do differently if you
were going to do another group design?
What methods/strategies would help a group come up with a better
design?
What would you do the same?
What methods/strategies helped your group come up with a good
coherent, consistent design?
What helped your group be more efficient?
What did you find more
difficult than expected?
What did you find easy or straightforward?
What did you find rewarding?
What did you learn from your
fellow group members?
(Aside from group questions)
What did you learn about designing a system?
Consider these a jumping off
point.
YOU DO NOT HAVE TO ANSWER
ALL OF THESE QUESTIONS.
This assignment could be
titled "what I learned from doing the project."
It is not "An exercise
in filling pages with B.S." - 3 pages with
2 points is not anywhere
near as good as 1 page with 10 points.
Nor is it "Why my group
should get an A", or "Boy did we get along
great, despite what you may have heard".
