CIS 624 Fall 2003 Assignment 4 – Data Staging

Due: Start of Class on 12/04/03

Task:

Identify at least 10 things that have to be done in doing data staging that results in the attached star schema, starting from the attached 3NF database. Be as specific as possible (e.g. how is the “Lead Vocals” brought into the Recording?). The idea is to create a detailed design for the staging process. Your answer should be neat and easy to read.

I don’t expect that anybody what get everything that needs to be done (remember, this is more complicated than anybody expects it to be. The idea here is to stop thinking in the abstract and really see the work that has to be done).
