Complete a rough design for the Data Warehousing situation described below. In your design, which can be displayed graphically or textually, include 1) contents of fact table – with grain size, and primary key and facts, 2) contents of dimension tables, with primary key, attributes – and what one record corresponds to.
Situation:
The Ocean City (NJ) Realtors Bureau (possibly in violation of anti-trust rules, but play along with me) is developing a data mart centered around the customer rental portion of local realtors operations. It is interested in facilitating its management’s ability to give advice to member realtors. This could involve determining house features that lead to successful renting, helping owners set rental prices for different weeks during the year, looking at renter characteristics (possibly learning info that would help in reaching new customers), and other features that you think could be helpful to the Bureau or its members (and indirectly the home owners and renters through better service).
