How to access SmartForce SAP training modules in the SAP lab (CH 201):
The CH lab computers all have the SmartForce/CBT
new player.
The student IDs are stored locally, so if you want to do parts
of the test at a time, you must use the same computer in the lab
that was used when you entered the student number, and sign-on
using the same student number. Otherwise, you can log-in as a
new student on any computer, if all you want to do is take the
test from scratch.
Due to Office2000 and security issues, you must access modules by number from the Start button:
OVERVIEW: Start/Run C:\CBTLIB\R34021E\R34021E
FINANCIAL: Start/Run C:\CBTLIB\R34024E\R34024E
Print two copies of your test results as proof of course completion. Turn in one copy to me, and keep the as proof of completion if you need it for other courses. Scores for each section of the test must be 70% or better to be accepted.
Allow at least four hours to complete each training course. You can stop a course at any point and resume at another time.
SAP R/3 4.x: Business Process Introduction - Financial Accounting
The purpose of the SAP self-study program is to help you visualize a "real world" accounting system with some of the mechanics and complexities that we do not deal with in the classroom (for example, specifying a Chart of Accounts, checking credit limits, issuing dunning reports, working with multiple currencies). The self-study program will not turn you into an SAP expert; the system is incredibly complicated. However, it will give you some familiarity with the menus and screens of a major ERP system.
What you'll see in the FI module:
Overview: This is background information
(10 screens)
Integration: How the general ledger is composed (11 screens)
Documents: Describes accounting documents and posting (11 screens)
Reporting: How to generate external financial reports (13 screens)
Course test
There are tests after each unit and a final
course test. At the end of each unit, take the unit test. When
you have completed the final Course test, print the Test progress
page to turn in. You must score at least 70% to pass and receive
credit for the assignment. If at first you don't succeed, try,
try again. The course test questions are chosen at random, so
you won't get the same questions twice.
