Be sure you are able to

  • Launch Explorer (not Internet Explorer)
  • Make a new folder in Documents and Settings-Your folder. Remember to always use lowercase names and no spaces (use underscore _ if needed) for folders and files
  • Add this file to that folder (how?)
  • Copy that folder to your student folder (I drive)
  • Copy the folder to a jump (USB) drive (which letter is it?)
  • Change folder views to Details
  • Show file extensions of known types (Tools -Folder Options- View)

E-mail:

  • Launch Internet Explorer
  • Log in to the La Salle portal
  • Click on e-mail icon, top row
  • New Message
  • Click on "To" tab to get address books. Select La Salle Addresses
  • Search for your e-mail address
  • Start a message to yourself
  • Add an attachment (bottom of window); go to C: Documents and Settings and open your folder to find the file you just put there.
  • Send the message
  • Open it and save the attachment back to your C:Documents and Settings (Replace? OK).
