FindAPark is a web service application designed to help user's search for a local hike or vacation revolving around hiking or cycling. The application lets users use Google Map to search for parks located in a city. Once a user types in a city the text box will use autocomplete to display cities related to the user's current text. The user then has the option to select a city in the autocomplete table or just finish typing the cities name and pressing enter. Once this is completed the map will focus on the city that was selected and display all the parks around the area.
With FindAPark I wanted to help ease the process to all individuals who enjoy hiking and riding in local parks. I know from a personal experience, I have spent countless amounts of hours searching for local parks to go riding in. Now with FindAPark everything you need in order to find that perfect park to hike or ride in is right there!
FindAPark uses Wikipedia and Google to provide park information and reviews along with Instagram photos to show us beautiful images of each and every park located in that city. This allows us users to save time from researching different park and to just focus on using one website to gather all the information that is needed to make your decision. For instance, this April I plan of going to Utah and Arizona to do some hiking. I used FindAPark to show all the local parks within the cities of Moab, UT, Page, Arizona, and Grand Canyon Village, AZ. I've also used FindAPark for finding local parks in Philadelphia! It is always nice to find a new park, which you haven't visited before!
