From the early days of Scott Joplin‘ ragtime to John Coltran to Grover Washington Jr, jazz has
influenced all types of music today. Every decade has its signature style of Jazz music. In the
late 1890s it was ragtime. In the 30s and 40s it was Swing. Charlie Parker, Dizzy Gillespie,
and Thelonious Monk started a new jazz craze called Bebop in the 50s and 60s.
