Jazz music is American music! It has been compared to baseball as one of America's favorite pass times.
The history of jazz is such a hot topic these days; that the Academy Award nominee Ken Burns has put together a wonderful series about it.
Ken Burns has been a documentary filmmaker for more than 20 years. Mr. Burns has done a excellent job in reaching the history of jazz music. He starts his film with the
birth of jazz in New Orleans in the 1800s all the way though to the 1960s. This documentary covers how jazz changed ever decade from slavery to the civil rights era.
I recommend watching JAZZ a film by Ken Burns airing on PBS. The picture links to the documentary site were you can go behind the scenes, view episode clips, read
