  • iframes site of the day from:
  • Today’s topic is iframes, and CSS in Dreamweaver. Reading is HTML & CSS Chapter 9 (Flash, video, audio) and Chapter 8, pages 189-190 (iFrames).
    Framesets, in which each section was a separate HTML page, are now part of Web history—think about why they have not persisted. For another look at current design, mostly commercial, (formerly featuring iframes) see TheBestDesigns.

Also, here is an article on the use of frames from About.com that returns to supporting them.
Watch this space for an example of an iframe site. OK. As I said, iframes get used when loading other content such as AJAX. Note no scroll bars, though. Oh—Google maps uses them as well as YouTube!

And here's a quick demo of targeting to an <iframe>. These two images will load in the iframe first loaded with a lovely cat photo.
