Children's Programs Mentoring
LOCK La Salle Organization of Caring for Kids
LOCK works with different children's programs, such as St. Christopher's
Children's Hospital and St. Vincent's, to open doors for children
that would normally be closed to them.
Pastorius
Pastorius meets twice a week with a total of 30 mentors and children.
The mentors provide educational field trips several times a year,
as well as arts and crafts activities and games. Pastorius works
with younger children until their graduation from the program
at the end of fifth grade.
Youth Worker
Youth Worker is a program developed to help children create a
keener sense of responsibility and self-discipline. Youth Worker
tries to prepare children for their future by instilling in them
a strong work ethic and knowledge.
Best Buddies
This national organization pairs La Salle students with mentally
and physically challenged teenagers. The students and their buddies
build relationships through events such as field trips, pizza parties,
and trips to the movies.
Big Brothers & Big Sisters
Big Brothers & Big Sisters pairs La Salle students with students
from local elementary schools. Big Brothers & Big Sisters aims
at enabling students to grow together while building bonds of friendship.
Explorers at the Inn
La Salle students spend time mentoring children from Holy Innocents
Parish. Together they play sports, attend events on and off campus,
and work on homework.
